Architectual drawing of gates at front entrance created by Terry Powell.

GATING UPDATE

As reported at the annual meeting, the board paid landscape architect Terry Powell to do an architectural drawing for gating the neighborhood that incorporated the City's requirements. Bill Cocke, who is heading up the project, received bids from two companies. Iron Innovations had the lowest bid.

Since the neighborhood is also accessible through Oak Hollow, the board was hoping that Oak Hollow would choose to gate their entrance. The board was willing to help pay a portion of the cost for their gate, since it would benefit our neighborhood, as well. Their board was contacted and is not interested in gating at this time. So, Bill had Terry draw up plans for gating the Part IV entrance as an alternative. More information will follow after all financial information is available, and we know how much gating will cost each homeowner. Some of the cost can be offset by funds the board already has. The rest would have to be raised through a special assessment.

KNOW OF ANY NEW NEIGHBORS?

The board needs your help in identifying new neighbors. If you know of families who have moved in the neighborhood in the last year, please send us the addresses, so the welcoming committee or board can follow up. This will help us make sure new neighbors are greeted, added to the directory, given the covenants and included in mailed communications. We also have some vacancies on the welcoming committee, so let us know if this is something you would like to do.

THANKS TO SANTA'S HELPERS

Our thanks to those who helped with the Christmas decorations at the front entrance: Elise Jones, Nancy Perkins, Melanie Plumb, Buddy and Judy Voelkle, Joe and Lynn Nassar, Agnes and Jim Baker and Elizabeth Cobb. A special thank you goes to Elizabeth Cobb who also took them down. If you are willing to be on the Christmas decorating committee next year, please let us know. It will be greatly appreciated.
